Bandbon Chaboksar

In the list of sightseeing places around Chaboksar, the «Band Bon» castle is one of the most essential locations to visit. This stone castle, located in a village of the same name, was built to protect against pirate attacks. The residents of Band Bon village, several hundred years ago, built a fortress using local materials such as stone, sarooj, and gypsum mortar. Its towers, battlements, and stone throwers remain standing despite the high humidity and constant rainfall.
