Historical summer village and Qalat Peak of Shiraz

Qalat is a summer village with stepped houses. This village is located near Mount Qalat and surrounds the village like a large wall. Qalat, with its historical monuments and buildings, lush nature, beautiful springs, and cool climate, was once considered a resort for the kings of ancient Iran. If you go towards the summit of Mount Qalat, you will see unique views of the old village texture with a paved path and a dense forest of trees. In addition to the mentioned features, this area is covered with rich medicinal plants such as yarrow, thyme, hollyhock, plantain, rhubarb, artichoke, and other plants. The unique features of this attraction have caused many tourists who come to Shiraz every year to visit this village, although Qalat is still unknown to some.

Note that you can drive from the beginning to the middle of the village, but you must continue the path on foot. Along this route, besides pleasant views, you will also enjoy the pleasant climate.

National Registration: Qalat Village was registered on May 8, 2019, in the list of Iran's national heritage.

In one of the quiet alleys of the village, there is a church belonging to World War I with a stone structure. This church was built by religious missionaries between the two world wars for the Christians living in the village. Unfortunately, due to insufficient maintenance, this church is deteriorating.

Qalat Museum

Ramin Baghi, a music graduate, established the Qalat House Museum about 10 years ago. Visiting this museum is free, and you can see a large collection of old instruments and objects, cameras, old radios, coins and banknotes, tools for making traditional shoes, paintings by Ramin Baghi, and other artifacts. Some of the items registered in the cultural heritage of Fars Province are also in this collection.

Old Bath

There is an old bath in this village, and the elders and white-bearded men of the village believe that Saadi once bathed there. Unfortunately, this historical monument, like the church, is also deteriorating.

Waterfall

On the slopes of the Red Mountain and the edge of Qalat village, there are three natural waterfalls, one of which is somewhat difficult to access. Less than 2 kilometers from the old texture of Qalat is the small Qalat waterfall.

Famous Resorts

The famous rivers Shab-e-Shatri and Anjiri spring, which have special greenery and freshness especially in spring and summer, where you can see various wildflowers and medicinal plants and enjoy the pleasant air by the river.

Pachenar

Pachenar is another attraction of the village, consisting of four plane trees together, where on the days of Ashura and Tasua, fires are lit beside them.
