Description

The Grand Mosque of Tabriz is one of the religious sites of Tabriz, recognized as the main mosque since its establishment and located in the heart of the Tabriz bazaar. This mosque belongs to various periods, including the Seljuks and Qajars, and its prayer hall is built with beautiful arches and domes on octagonal brick columns. During the Ilkhanid and Aq Qoyunlu periods, restorations and new decorations such as stucco mihrab and tilework dome were added. After the earthquake of 1193 AH, it was rebuilt during the Qajar era and registered as a national monument.
