The Molla Rostam Mosque located in Maragheh County is one of the first mosques of the Safavid era, which served as a model for mosques and columned buildings such as Ali Qapu and Chehel Sotoun. There is no historical inscription visible in the Molla Rostam Mosque, but based on the style used, its construction can be attributed to the Safavid period and it was rebuilt during the Qajar era. So far, no written record or inscription has mentioned the construction date of the Molla Rostam Mosque. This mosque is a magnificent example of Iranian wooden architecture from the 10th century AH.
