This part of our country's large and busy capital is home to one of the oldest protected areas in the entire world. In fact, the history of Sorkheh Hesar Park dates back to the Qajar era, when the kings of this dynasty reserved the area as the king's personal hunting ground. The animal species in this park were very diverse at that time and it was one of the best sightseeing places in Tehran for hunting and recreation.
