Do Shakh Desert or Sabzevar Desert
The Do Shakh Desert, also called the Sabzevar Desert, is one of the tourist attractions of Khorasan Razavi, located in the eastern part of Turan National Park and to the west of the Shir Ahmad Wildlife Refuge. This desert covers a large area and extends south to the Tehran-Mashhad highway and west to the city of Sabzevar. Given the 800-meter elevation of the Do Shakh Desert above sea level, it has become a place for the accumulation of runoff and floods in the region. When you step on the desert, you will feel a puffed salty ground beneath your feet. In the northern part, there are beautiful salt domes that adorn the desert. The Sabzevar Desert does not have a rectangular shape, but it can be said that its length is 100 kilometers and its width is 40 kilometers. Do Shakh, as one of the tourist attractions of Sabzevar, has a dry climate, so the best time to travel might be winter. Get directions from locals.
