The Ghafarieh Dome was built between the years 725 and 728 AH during the Ilkhanid rule by Sultan Abu Sa'id Bahadur Khan.
This historical monument was registered as number 137 in the National Monuments of Iran on the 7th of Mordad, 1312 Solar Hijri. The Ghafarieh Dome, inspired by the Red Dome of Maragheh, is constructed in a square shape, situated on a stone platform above an underground crypt. This brick structure has two upper and lower floors. The four corners of the building are adorned with brick columns featuring diamond patterns, adding extra charm. The entrance is located on the north side and has one large archway and two narrow, tall archways.
The base of the building, two meters high, is made of white marble, with some pieces measuring 150 by 70 centimeters. Originally, the building had a double-layered dome which has been lost, but it was repaired and restored recently by the Cultural Heritage Organization.
