The Blue Dome and the Round Tower of Maragheh

The Maragheh dome is one of the other attractions of East Azerbaijan in the center of Maragheh city. This historic dome is located above the tomb of the mother of Hulagu Khan, a descendant of Genghis and the king of the Ilkhanids. The location of the Blue Dome of Maragheh near the city center attracts many tourists to this building. Near this dome, there is another historic building known as the "Round Tower," which is cylindrical in shape.

There is no precise information about the time of construction of the Blue Dome of Maragheh. According to some experts, the construction of this dome dates back to the Seljuk period, while others believe this building belongs to the period of Mongol rule in Iran.
