Imamzadeh Hashem Rasht

The main building of Imamzadeh Hashem in Rasht dates back to the Safavid era, but it has been rebuilt and restored several times throughout history. This structure consists of a room with a shrine, and the shrine is made of silver. Inside the shrine lies the tomb of Imamzadeh Hashem, who, according to some sources, is a descendant of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS).

In addition to its religious significance, Imamzadeh Hashem in Rasht is also important for tourism. This Imamzadeh welcomes many tourists from across the country and even from abroad throughout the year. Around the Imamzadeh, there are various welfare and tourism facilities including a pilgrims' rest house, a bazaar, parking, a prayer room, a library, and a clinic.

The village of Imamzadeh Hashem dates back several hundred years and was formerly known as "Askar Sara Kamdam." According to reports, Imamzadeh Hashem is a descendant of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS) who came from Baghdad to Iran during the time of Abdul Malik ibn Marwan and was martyred in the Alborz mountains on the way to Mashhad. His body was buried in the village of Imamzadeh Hashem.

The original structure of the Imamzadeh Hashem shrine was built in the eighth century AH. This building has undergone several restorations and reconstructions throughout history.

This Imamzadeh is registered as one of Iran's national heritage sites.

The Sefidrud River, one of the largest rivers in Iran, passes near Imamzadeh Hashem. This river is suitable for boating, fishing, and swimming. Due to its clear water and the beautiful surrounding nature, it is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iran.
