The Old Bazaar of Hamadan, just like other old bazaars, has a unique Islamic architecture. This bazaar is one of the tourist attractions of Hamadan, dating back to the Qajar era and is listed among the national historical monuments. This bazaar, located in the center of Hamadan city, includes the alleys of blacksmiths, knife sellers, jewelers, traditional shoe sellers, and more.
The bazaars of Esmaeili Khan, Imamzadeh Yahya, Pahlevan Bridge, Jolan, and more are located in this large bazaar. Today, this old bazaar is considered one of the most important shopping centers in Hamadan and its surrounding areas. It is interesting to know that this old bazaar contains many historical caravanserais, including Sharifiyeh Caravanserai, Hosseinkhani Caravanserai, Qibla Caravanserai, Mirza Ghasem Caravanserai, and others. Due to its historical texture and the presence of active professions such as jewelry making, coppersmithing, and more, many tourists visit it to get acquainted with these cultural professions and to buy souvenirs. Overall, this bazaar has 30 alleys and 24 caravanserais, with some parts covered and some uncovered.
