Imamzadeh Hasan Shrine (AS)
The Imamzadeh Hasan Shrine (AS) in the city of Khomam, located 13 kilometers northwest of Rasht, is considered one of the popular pilgrimage sites in Gilan. According to the existing genealogy, this Imamzadeh is a descendant of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (AS). The old building of the shrine was demolished and a new two-story structure was built; the first floor is designated for men and the second floor for women. The floor of the sanctuary is covered with mosaic tiles, and the lower parts of the walls, or the wall baseboards, are decorated with marble stone. The ceiling of the shrine is designed as a rounded arch, topped with a golden dome. The metal lattice zarih (shrine enclosure) surrounds the tomb of the Imamzadeh. Additionally, in the outer courtyard of the shrine, there is the Khomam Martyrs' Cemetery, which adds to the spiritual atmosphere of the place.
Identity and Lineage of the Imamzadeh:
Identity: Precise information and reliable historical documents about the identity of this Imamzadeh are not widely available. Based on popular belief and what is usually said about such pilgrimage sites, he is probably considered one of the Sayyids and descendants of the Pure Imams (AS).
Ambiguity in the Name: The name "Hasan" is a relatively common name among Sayyids and may refer to several different figures. Without a specific genealogy or historical inscription, determining the exact identity is very difficult.
Possibilities: He may be one of the Alawis who migrated to the Gilan region during the early Islamic period or later centuries and settled there.
