”Seyyed Sharafshah Dolayi” or Pir Sharafshah is a mystic and poet of the eighth century AH. He is the first Gilaki poet who composed poetry in Gilaki and left behind a divan of poems.
Seyyed Sharafshah's poems are composed in the form of do-bayti and in a syllabic meter. This type of do-bayti by Sharafshah is known as ”Sharafshahi Four-Grain”, which is outside the traditional prosodic meters but has a syllabic rhythm.
The complete Gilaki divan of Seyyed Sharafshah's poems is kept in Bucharest and has been photographed, printed, and published by Dr. Mohammad Ali Sooti. Most of his poems contain ethical, mystical, and religious themes. The tomb of this prominent poet is located in the village of Darsaraye Rezvanshahr and is one of the religious attractions of Rezvanshahr County, respected by the people and lovers of knowledge, literature, and mysticism.
The village of Darsara, where the tomb of Pir Sharafshah Dolabi is located, is also called the village of Pir Sharafshah or Seyyed Sharafshah due to the presence of his tomb. During the month of Muharram, especially on the days and nights of Tasua and Ashura of Hosseini (peace be upon him), mourning groups from neighboring villages flock to his shrine and mourn for the master of martyrs, Imam Hossein ibn Ali (peace be upon them).
According to a genealogy plaque installed on the tomb, his father's name was mentioned as Mohammad ibn Hasan. His mother's tomb, named Seyyedeh Banoo, is located a short distance away in another tomb nearby. Between mother and son, a local river called Chaf flows gently and silently in a mysterious manner.
The graves of some martyrs from Rezvanshahr are located next to the shrine of Seyyed Sharafshah Dolabi. Ancient plane trees, called «Saq» in the Talysh language, majestically spread their canopy over the martyrs' graves.
