Description

Shah Cheragh, the title of one of the religious buildings in Shiraz and the name of a famous mosque and mausoleum, is considered the largest pilgrimage site in the city. According to Shia belief, this building houses the tomb of two brothers of the eighth Imam: Ahmad ibn Musa, the eldest son of Musa al-Kadhim known as Shah Cheragh, and Mir Muhammad ibn Musa, one of the brothers of Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha known as Seyyed Mir Muhammad. Hazrat Seyyed Ibrahim (a), son of Mir Muhammad (a) and grandson of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (a), is also located near his father's holy shrine.

Besides its religious significance and the peaceful atmosphere it provides, this pilgrimage site is also very important in terms of Islamic and Iranian art and architecture. The tile work and mirror work in this mausoleum are displayed at the peak of beauty and create a unique space. The architecture of Shah Cheragh is somewhat similar to the Azari style, with the Soltaniyeh dome in Zanjan being an example of this architecture.

National registration: This monument was registered on June 10, 1942, with number 363 in the list of national monuments of Iran; the sixth day of Dhu al-Qi'dah was also named Shah Cheragh Commemoration Day.

Additionally, you have access to the Shah Cheragh museum and its bazaar and other places for visiting and sightseeing.
