The Artisans' House is located in the old Arg neighborhood of Mashhad and was one of the aristocratic houses in that area. The Arg of Mashhad was originally built as a residence for soldiers and rulers, but its good location later turned it into a wealthy district known as the Arg neighborhood. Years later, during the Qajar era, a large part of the Arg building was demolished and a new street was constructed, around which many beautiful cafes were established. Important figures such as Mehdi Akhavan Sales, Mohammad Reza Shafiei Kadkani, and others frequented these cafes and rested there.
In the Arg neighborhood of Mashhad, besides administrative centers and cafes, there were many houses, and the Artisans' House was considered one of the aristocratic houses in this area. Among the items found in the historic Artisans' House were spinning and weaving machines. After serving as the residence of the Artisans family for some time, today this historic house has been transformed into a very beautiful, cozy, and pleasant cafe called Havalayi, which is used as a venue for various cultural activities such as Shahnameh reading, storytelling, and more.
