This wetland is considered one of the most important wetlands in the world, covering an area of over 5700 square kilometers with a depth range of 1 to 5 meters (in the desert region of our dear eastern country)! Yes, it is no coincidence that it has earned the title of the largest freshwater lake on the Iranian plateau.
The Hamun wetland consists of three parts: Hamun Puzak (Sowaran), Hamun Saberi (Sabouri), and Hamun Hirmand. Hamun is located in the Sistan and Baluchestan region on the border between Afghanistan and Iran. The large Hamun wetland is considered one of the most important historical sites of Zahedan. It is worth knowing that annually Iranian and foreign tourists travel to visit the Hamun wetland.
