Kafeh Lake of Khonj is a seasonal lake with an area of 130 square kilometers and is located in a vast plain. This lake has an east-west extent, with a length of about 18 kilometers and a width of 8 kilometers. In the local language, "Kafeh" means a flat plain area without slope, and "Kafeh Khonj" refers to a place where, during seasonal rains, a large amount of water accumulates, forming a lake and swamp.
