The Chalkrud River is one of the tourist attractions of Mazandaran, flowing 7 kilometers west of the city of Tonekabon and 7 kilometers east of the city of Ramsar. This river is originally a border river and one of the tourist attractions and sights of Tonekabon. This river originates from the springs of the eastern mountains of Siyahkuh, Sargolchal, Shirgah, Bolurkuh, Ashkur Olya, Niz Darreh, Ariyeh, Laktarashan, Kheshtbeh, Golin, Holustan, Jehak, Bal Gardan, Aghuz Koti, and Janat Rudbar.
