Akhtavan Golpayegan Dam

Golpayegan Dam Lake is another attraction of Golpayegan, dating back to the early 14th century. It is interesting to know that Golpayegan Dam Lake is the first earth-fill reservoir dam and the first modern dam in Iran. Construction of this dam, one of the sights of Golpayegan, began in 1944 and was put into operation in 1957. Golpayegan Dam Lake is the most important source of agricultural water supply for Golpayegan lands. This dam is built on the Anarbar River and has a height of 57 meters above ground level. Golpayegan Dam Lake is home to fish such as carp, common carp, river white fish, and trout. If you eat the white fish and trout of Golpayegan Dam, you will see exactly the difference between natural and farmed fish.
