The oldest school you can find in Khansar is this Maryam Begum School, whose history dates back to the Safavid era. During the reign of Shah Suleiman Safavi, a person named Maryam Begum Safavi, one of the architects, was asked to build this structure. Now Maryam Begum School has another use and has been converted into the Ayatollah Alavi Seminary. Maryam Begum School was built on a 1500 square meter land in an octagonal shape with a mosque, pool, courtyard, and library. This school has two entrances, and its main door is located near the Khansar river. Although Maryam Begum School was renovated in the years 1927 and 1975, unfortunately, some parts like the library have been lost.
