Description

Shah Mosque or Soltani Mosque

Shah Mosque or Soltani Mosque is considered one of the religious sites of Tehran, which was renamed Imam Khomeini Mosque after the 1979 revolution.

The history of the building's construction and the stunning architecture of this mosque date back to the time of Fath-Ali Shah and the Qajar era. This building has not been renovated so far, and one can witness the very beautiful architecture of that period.

According to statistics, this mosque is considered the second largest mosque in the capital after the Tehran Grand Mosque, and in October 1984 it was registered as one of the country's important national monuments.
