The Holy Shrine Museum of Hazrat Masoumeh (S) is one of the oldest museums in the country, located in the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (S) in the city of Qom, and is considered one of the tourist attractions of Qom. Before establishing a place to preserve the historical and artistic artifacts of the shrine, these items were scattered around the tomb and shrine and some were even lost until in the year 1314 SH (1935-1936 AD), the then Ministry of Education established a museum inside the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (S) in the location of Shahid Motahari Mosque.
The activity of this museum continued until about December 1974, and from that date until the 1980s, due to reasons including the need to expand the side space and construct the current building, the museum's activity was stopped; until in 1982 this collection was moved to the current building in Astaneh Square next to the Feyzieh School. The new building of the Astan Quds Museum initially had an area of 500 square meters, and later in 1992 during the tenure of Ayatollah Masoudi, a basement was added, increasing the shrine museum's area to more than 1200 square meters.
