The caravanserai of the Palace of Bahram
Although this caravanserai is called "Palace of Bahram" and attributed to "Bahram Gur", the Sasanian king (reigned 421 to 438 AD), most experts believe the building dates back to the Safavid era (16th century AD). However, this name is probably not entirely inappropriate, as it seems Bahram Gur once had a hunting palace in this area. Discoveries related to the pre-Safavid period have been made in the areas around the caravanserai, which strengthens the possibility that this building was constructed in pre-Safavid times. Also, near the caravanserai, there are ruins of another building called "Palace of Bahram" or "Harem Palace." A caravanserai known as "Ayn al-Rashid" is also located two kilometers north of the Palace of Bahram caravanserai.
