Description

Vank Church of Isfahan was built during the reign of Shah Abbas II to settle the Armenians of Isfahan in the Jolfa neighborhood. Vank means (monastery) in Armenian.

Whether you are Christian or Muslim, Vank Church will offer you a completely spiritual, religious, and peaceful atmosphere. Vank Church of Isfahan is one of the must-see places in Isfahan that should not be missed during your visit. This church is still the center of worship and religious ceremonies for the Christians of Isfahan and its doors are open to all visitors. The church consists of several sections including a museum, printing house, library, and Armenian ethnology museum.

In the museums, historical objects, jewelry, textiles, paintings, and manuscripts are displayed for visitors. One of the museum's attractions is a hair strand with a sentence from the Tarot written on it, which can be read under a microscope. The ceiling and walls of the church are covered with paintings of Gospel scenes with Christian themes, depicted in the most flawless way possible with oil paint and gold work.
