Sorkhnaklateh Hill belongs to the prehistoric period of ancient Iran. This site was registered as one of Iran's national heritage sites on January 30, 2005. The hill is circular in shape, with a diameter of 108 meters and a height of 12.5 meters above the surrounding ground level. The cultural materials found in this ancient hill include broken pieces of Neolithic pottery, Cheshmeh Ali type pottery, gray Bronze Age pottery, and red pottery pieces from the historical period. Archaeologist Omrani Rakavandi says that Sorkhnaklateh Hill is located in the Baharan district of the Northern Astarabad rural district in the city of Sorkhnaklateh. For the first time, the Swedish archaeologist "Arne" in 1945 and then the Japanese "Shiomi" in 1978 presented it on the archaeological map of the Gorgan region and conducted archaeological identification and studies.
