Kosar Icehouse is located four kilometers northeast of Bidokht and adjacent to an abandoned village. This icehouse is one of the domed icehouses with a shading wall. The reservoir of this type of icehouse is conical and resistant to sunlight, protecting the water from heat and warmth. In the middle of the reservoir, a small well has been built where the water resulting from melting ice collects. The dome of the icehouse is built tall for proper air ventilation, and its tip has a vent through which the heat of the icehouses is discharged.
Kosar Icehouse was built at the caravan route. The good location of the building caused more ice sales and high profit for the icehouse owner. With the advent of new industrial refrigerators, these traditional and functional buildings declined and were preserved only as historical monuments.
